Attorney Spotlight: John F. “Jack” Gross

Managing Partner, Jack Gross brings not only legal expertise but a genuine passion for helping people, which fuels both his practice and his leadership style.

Jack’s story with our firm is one of legacy. Following in the footsteps of his father, firm founder Malcolm Gross, Jack began his legal journey as a law clerk in Northampton County.  Later, a summer spent clerking at Gross McGinley sparked a lasting connection, leading him to become an Associate Attorney and eventually Partner.  In 2018, Jack took on the role of Managing Partner, a testament to his dedication and leadership qualities.

What motivates Jack the most?  It’s the people.  He thrives on building relationships with clients, large and small businesses, across various industries. Jack takes pride in finding practical and efficient solutions to complex business challenges.  He credits the firm’s collaborative approach as a key strength, allowing him to work alongside talented colleagues to develop the best strategies for his clients.  His measure of success is a client who feels thoroughly supported and sees their goals achieved.

Beyond his impressive business law practice, Jack serves as Solicitor for the city of Allentown, Salisbury Township, and Whitehall Township – a true pillar of the Lehigh Valley community.  This commitment extends to his numerous board positions.  He chairs the DaVinci Science Center, guides the Community Action of Lehigh Valley and has dedicated a decade to the American Red Cross.  For the past 25 years, Jack has also been a driving force on the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare (LVBCH) board.

Jack is a fervent believer in mentoring the next generation of legal minds.  He frequently works with younger attorneys and law students imparting the wisdom that a lawyer is also a counselor.  Clients often need a steady hand and sound guidance during challenging situations.  Jack emphasizes that law is an art, not a formula.  Every case and client is unique, a valuable lesson not taught in law school.

Jack Gross embodies the spirit of Gross McGinley.  He’s a consummate professional, a strong leader, and a family man deeply invested in his practice, his family, his community, and the future of law.
