Attorney Nicholas Sandercock joined the Board of Civic Theatre of Allentown in July 2020. An Allentown resident and avid patron of Civic Theatre, Nick is excited to contribute to the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with 90 years of history in the Lehigh Valley.Nick’s “strategic planning, governance and HR experience both as an attorney and general manager, relationships with Lehigh Valley businesses and organizations, and enthusiasm will be assets in helping to move Civic’s mission forward,” noted Board President Maria DeFebo-Edwards.Civic Theatre is dedicated to producing live theatre of high standards of artistic excellence, developing the artists and audiences of the future and showcasing films that appeal to a diverse audience. Despite being closed due to COVID-19, the organization was able to offer a virtual summer program, part of their theatre arts training to over 300 children each year, developing self-expression, discipline, and teamwork as well as an appreciation for the art of theatre.As an attorney, Nick is part of Gross McGinley’s litigation and medical malpractice defense teams. Additionally he practices wedding law, focused on vendor and contract review. Before he began his legal career, he spent three and a half years in training and management roles at Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group and was personally responsible for budget, HR and training functions.In the community, Nick also serves on the Foundation Board for LifePath, an organization providing residential and community programs for individuals with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. Additionally, he is active with the South Parkland Youth Association.
