Paul McGinley Honored with Icon Award

Gross McGinley founding partner Paul A. McGinley has earned a Lehigh Valley Business Icon Award. Alongside 17 fellow honorees, Paul was recognized as an inspiration to his field, colleagues, and the community.

A 45-year career in the Lehigh Valley and beyond

For 45 years, Paul McGinley has dedicated his career to serving the Lehigh Valley business community. As the former Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of Rodale Inc., he led several major, international deals. Through Paul’s exposure as primary legal counsel, Gross McGinley became a business services competitor to Philadelphia and New York.

In addition, Paul’s Rodale experience helped establish Gross McGinley as a leader in intellectual property and advertising law, with extensive domestic and international product licensing work. He and his team gained knowledge in niche practice areas – internet and privacy law, as well as sweepstakes and promotions.

Today, Paul continues to counsel businesses and individuals in a variety of matters. His practice areas include real estate, estate planning, employment law, and business law.

Within the community, Paul has served many organizations including The Rodale Institute, WDIY Public Radio, and the Velodrome Fund.

Paul’s advice to the next generation

As part of his Icon Award honor, Lehigh Valley Business asked Paul his advice for the next generation. He shared these three things:

  1. The most important thing that a business leader can do is love their work and the people that they serve. Being passionate about your business and the success of the people that you work for and work with is a guarantee of success.
  2. Business leaders need to care about their community. Each of us needs to appreciate the fact that our success is built upon the communities in which we live and work. Giving back is an essential obligation for each of us.
  3. Business leaders should not sacrifice their personal lives to achieve business goals.

According to Paul, a satisfying personal life, community dedication, and passion about work are three prongs to a successful career.

We are proud to have Paul McGinley as one of our founding partners and congratulate him on his well-deserved Icon Award!
