Voter registration fraud has recently been in the news. In particular, there has been reported concern of deceased voters not being removed from the registration list. With respect to Lehigh County Voter Registration procedures, the present method may diminish some fears. When a person dies, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania contacts the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office. In addition, the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office monitors local newspapers for obituaries and legal notices for deceased individuals. Furthermore, a voter’s registration is canceled after two federal elections if the person has not voted.There presently appears to be no procedure for individuals moving out of the area other than a person’s registration will be canceled after two federal elections if the person has not voted.
