These seminars are offered free-of-charge and all are welcome.2019 Elder Law Month: Estate Planning in the Digital AgeLead by an experienced Elder Law attorney, this presentation will review the fundamentals of estate planning and estate administration (the process of gathering the deceased person’s assets, paying creditors, and making distribution to heirs) and important considerations regarding technology and the Internet. Understanding the estate administration process is important to ensure estate planning documents are properly prepared and assets are properly titled. Discussion will include the appointment of the executor or administrator, Pennsylvania inheritance tax, and the distribution of assets from the estate. This session will pay particular attention to “digital assets” and how to help prevent online accounts and investments from being lost behind passwords and the two-step verifications required to gain access to funds.
