Our client faced serious charges, which included felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor simple assault, and summary harassment, stemming from a misunderstanding with a friend of the opposite sex. Given the gravity of the accusations, our client maintained their innocence and chose to fight for justice.Through a rigorous two-day jury trial, our legal team – led by Alexander O. Ward – diligently presented a compelling defense. Our client, who is deaf, testified credibly under oath and was unimpeached on cross examination. The jury deliberated for less than 10 minutes before returning a verdict of not guilty on all charges. Additionally, the Judge found him not guilty of the harassment charge. He went home a free man after 22 months under indictment. This resounding victory not only cleared our client’s name but also affirmed the importance of due process and the presumption of innocence. We are proud to have played a role in securing justice for this client.
